Samsung’s Gear S3 Classic and the Gear S3 Classic smartwatches recently received a firmware update in the US. The update brought the smartwatches to version R760XXU1APK6 / R760OXA1APK6. Now, European units of the smartwatches are receiving a similar update as reported by users in the Netherlands and UK. The update is expected to gradually roll out to more countries in a couple of weeks.
The update changelog mentions bringing in improvements to GPS performance for GPS-reliant apps like Golf Navi and S Health. This update should also bring in improvements to the recently launched speedometer app. The update also brings in some changes in time zone settings for Russia (Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Novosibirsk). in the World Clock App. The update weighs in about 14MB for both the smartwatches.
Users will be notified about the update on the Gear Manager app, which can then be downloaded and applied on to the paired smartwatch.
