Samsung continues to fine-tune the Galaxy Watch with frequent firmware updates. Last week, the company rolled out an update for the LTE/4G variant of the smartwatch in Australia. It seems the update has now hit the European market.
Latest Galaxy Watch LTE update coming to more markets
Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch LTE on EE network in the UK. The new Tizen 4.0.0.1 based firmware update bumps the version R805FXXU1CRL6 and R815FXXU1CRL6 for the 46 mm and 42 mm model of the watch, respectively. And more importantly, it brings some nifty improvements in the watch’s usability and functionality.
Samsung’s smartwatches often get praised for their strong battery backup
- Improved Samsung Health experience
- Improved GPS accuracy and connection
- Improved battery efficiency
- Added Dual Clock Watch face
These improvements certainly add to the watch’s functionality, especially because it’s an LTE model. LTE smartwatch users tend to leave their smartphone at home while on the run and improved GPS accuracy and connection may come to their aid while mapping the run. Improved batter efficiency obviously comes good more often.
As said earlier, the latest Galaxy Watch update is rolling out for the users on EE network in the UK. It is an over the air update and measures 11.71MB. When available for your device, you’ll get a notification to download it. Meanwhile, you can also manually check for updates by following going to Settings -> About watch -> Update watch software -> Update now.
Samsung will be rolling out the update in more markets soon. Thanks for the tip Matthew.
