As they do every year, there are more rumours surfacing about the latest Samsung smartwatch. A new tip suggests that there could be both a Galaxy Watch 4 and a Watch Active 4 coming to the public in the first half of 2021.
When’s the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 Coming?
The serial leaker on Twitter, Ice Universe, has tweeted that the newest smartwatches are going to be released in Q2 – April, May, or June. As the Galaxy Watch 3 was released back in August 2020, these smartwatches are going to come earlier than expected.
As the name of the latest smartwatch is the Galaxy Watch Active 4, we know that Samsung has completely skipped the Galaxy Watch Active 3. There was no released Active wearable back in 2020, something that is still a little bit of a mystery.
Samsung jumped straight from the Galaxy Watch to the Galaxy Watch 3 (with the Active 2 sort of filling the gap), and it now looks as though executives at the company have realized just how confusing that is for tech journalists, consumers, and everyone else.
There is another rumour that Samsung is going to completely ditch the Tizen OS with their latest smartwatches and instead go with Google’s Wear OS.
If these newer smartwatches were to come out in Q2, we would expect them to be unveiled pretty soon – some time within the next three months.
