Fortnite is going to destroy its map during the next live event – everything you need to know about what’s going to happen

In all honesty, we got a bit bored of reporting on Fortnite leaks recently. When is a leak not a leak? When it happens all the time. Sometimes, the leaks are so minor and people fall over themselves to regurgitate them as massive events when they are not.

Today though, this Fortnite news sneaking out from leakers such as Wenso seems bigger.

We already know there will be an event – Remix: The Prelude on Friday 1st November ahead of the conclusion of Chapter 5, also bringing with it Remix Chapter 2 (are you still following along?).

The event will begin at 6.30 PM ET and as ever you are strongly encouraged to be in-game at least half an hour ahead of time. This event is the end of Chapter 5 so be prepared for downtime as soon as it finishes. This is unconfirmed at this stage, but history tells us this will be the case. Let’s hope they manage a smoother transition to the new Chapter than we have had recently.

Remix – The Prelude – what we know so far

Epic so far has been playing its cards close to its chest with what we can expect from the event but, as you would imagine, leakers gonna leak and Wenso has revealed that several POI’s on the map will be completely destroyed as part of the event and that some kind of video will be played on the screen at Restored Reels.

Rumors also abound of an in-game performance from American DJ and producer Marshmello. No confirmation here, but this would be a fitting end to a truly bizarre Fortnite chapter, and Marshmello did get his own skin last week. The post on Fortnite’s official X account also tells players to make sure they have their volume turned up.

Wenso meanwhile is convinced that the Rift Beacon will open during the event, which will have its own separate playlist.

Either way, we will hear more from Epic either later today or tomorrow confirming some of this stuff (or not!) and we can all see how much destruction takes place on the map ahead of the new Chapter.
