Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 start date confirmed – what can we expect?

Fortnite’s new Season is almost with us and, doubtless, it will bring a host of new things to do (and purchase), but what do we know about it, and, more importantly, when can we start playing it?

Let’s dig into what we know so far ahead of next week’s big launch.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 release date

Only a few days to go now before we can jump into the new Lawless season which sounds very cool, but more on that in a moment.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 will open for business on the 21st of February the same day that Chapter 1 completes. We will then have a period of maintenance downtime, which, if all goes to plan will likely last only a few hours before we are up and running once more with all the new content. If all goes to plan…

What’s new in Chapter 6 Season 2?

Fortnite is mixing things up to keep it interesting in Season 2 which goes by the moniker of Lawless. We are going to get heisting and Crime City and well lots of baddies doing bad things. Leaker HYPEX is insisting we are getting – for the first time in five years – the return of The Getaway LTM, which is pretty exciting stuff as many current players will probably never have experienced this mode before.

We are also getting what seems to be a Mortal Kombat tie-in – one of the Battle Pass skins is none other than Scorpion – now I was always a Raiden player myself, and sometime Sub-Zero so I’m hoping it encompasses more than just the one character when things get going properly.

If you are a fully paid-up subscriber to Fortnite Crew you will get your Battle Pass for ‘free’ so you won’t need to worry about coughing up real cash for fake Fortnite money.

Expect an official trailer to drop any time now.
