Just after the glamorous Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launch event, which took place yesterday in New York City, the head of Samsung’s mobile business division DJ Koh confirmed in a chat with CNBC that a new smartwatch in the Gear S line will be announced at an event next week. Those familiar with all the tech happenings know that DJ Koh is speaking about the upcoming IFA Berlin event. While it was initially expected that the Gear Fit 2 Pro would be the device making headlines at IFA, now it is confirmed that Samsung will be making a duo of launches in Berlin.
The Gear Fit 2 however is more or less officially announced as Samsung’s website has listed the wearable (learn more about it here). This leaves us with the next in line Gear S smartwatch. We have come to know about some information while the device was under WiFi Alliance and FCC certification that the smartwatch will be carrying the version number SM-R600 and be called as the Gear Sport. It will also most likely be the first Tizen wearable to run on Tizen 3.0 platform. Today, we were given a first look at the upcoming Gear Sport SM-R600 smartwatch through a leaked image from twitter user Tizen Cafe. Take a look at it below:

Judging by the size of the wristband, the smartwatch seems to be smaller than the Gear S3. Apart from that we do not have much details about any other specification of the Gear Sport. But we will not have to wait long for that to be answered though as mentioned earlier the IFA event is just a week away, so keep following us for more details.
