Exoborne has returned, and Sharkmob is encouraging players to join the playtests before the official release. The developers recently launched a blog post announcing that players could get their hands on the game early before its full release. If you missed out the first time around, then there’s no better chance than now to jump back into the sci-fi extraction shooter.

When are the playtests?
The last playtest for Exoborne took place in May 2024. Half a year later, Exoborne launched its playtest announcement trailer in early 2025.
The latest Exoborne playtest sessions are taking place from 5 am PST / 8 am EST / 1 pm GMT / 2 pm CET on Wednesday, February 12, until 5 am PST / 8 am EST / 1 pm GMT / 2 pm CET on Monday, February 17.
PC players can sign up for the playtests through the official Steam page. Console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, however, won’t be so fortunate.
In the blog posts, Sharkmob said: “The Exoborne Playtest is almost upon us! The servers will be going live today (February 12) at 14:00 CET, available in North America, Europe and Asia.
“Please keep in mind that Exoborne is still in development, which means that some aspects of the game are still unfinished.
“We are also working on performance optimization, so we ask you to keep this in mind as we continue to improve this over time.”
What will happen at the playtests?
Sharkmob has encouraged the community to engage in content creation and streaming.
The playtests will not only be a great way to experience the latest changes early but also provide direct feedback to the studio.
It’s been a practice that has garnered a lot of positive sentiment from the community. Feedback has brought about changes such as an overhauled loot system, changes to landmark designs, and a new inventory system.
Exoborne publisher Level Infinite has yet to give an update on the full release date of the game aside from its initial 2025 estimation.
