What’s free on the Epic Games Store — this week and next week?

The Epic Games Store gives away at least one free game each week to anyone with an Epic Games Store account — which itself is also free. This week, gamers can pick up Sega’s Football Manager 2024, the latest version of Sega’s benchmark sports management franchise; and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, the 2019 stealth-and-tactics shooter from CI games.

Epic also announced the two games that follow Football Manager 2024 and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts. They are:

  • Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland. A “neo-retro platformer” from The Mix Games, Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland adapts Nickelodeon’s animated series as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil go off in search of the new Reptar video game they just saw on the TV.
  • Super Crazy Rhythm Castle: A platforming puzzler where keeping the beat is essential to completing each level. Supports up to four players in local or online multiplayer, with co-operative and PvP play both available.

Those games will be available beginning Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. EDT, until Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. EDT.

Football Manager 2024.

Football Manager 2024 is the 20th edition of a game that practically established the sports management genre, laying down tracks for other sports management sims like Out of the Park Baseball in the two decades since. Football Manager 24 adds, for the first time, Japan’s J1, J2, and J3 leagues — all fully licensed — to the list of 125 leagues, and all of their teams, the game supports.

Football Manager 2024 also introduced the means of importing save files from Football Manager 2023; 2024’s save files may be exported to Football Manager 2025, which is expected to launch later in November. Sports Interactive confirmed the slight delay in an official blog post on Wednesday.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, which launched in 2019 (for Windows PC as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) sends the player to Siberia, where separatists have recently declared independence. Its leadership quickly becomes an autocratic state, and it’s up to the titular sniper to take out the warlords.

The game features five huge maps, and rolls the series back from an ill-fated attempt at making it an open-world game with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 (2017). Moderately successful with critics, Contracts was a strong enough sell to rate a sequel, 2021’s Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2.

Football Manager 2024 and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts may be claimed until Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. EDT, either through the Epic Games website or its client app. Mac OS users may still claim PC-only games, they just have to log in on a Windows PC to play them.
