EA could be going all in on MySims according to new leak

A Reddit user might have stumbled into EA’s next batch of Sims games. The two games, MySims Action Bundle and MySims Beacon Bay were briefly listed on the user’s EA Play app, with video evidence to boot.

Reddit poster OyeDiego posted to the MySims Reddit forum (subreddit), showing the EA Play app presenting two bundles. The Beacon Bay bundle returns a 500 error page, while the Action Bundle appears to be ready on EA’s servers.

Members of the MySims subreddit have guessed that the Action Bundle could potentially be MySims Agents and Skyheroes. Agents was originally released on the Wii in 2009, while SkyHeroes was released on DS, 360, PS3, and Wii in 2010.

However, there’s some confusion around what Beacon Bay could be. The area in question is only featured in The Sims 3 on DS, raising even more questions.

One question asked to the original poster was whether or not there was any more evidence. OyeDiego claims that their “day old” account is because they simply have never used Reddit like this before. Another hopped in to say that the amount of effort it’d take to make a replica of the EA Play store for something like MySims is “a lot”.

MySims comeback in full swing at EA

MySims is a recently revived spin-off of The Sims. Originally conceived as a way to bring The Sims to the family-friendly Nintendo Wii console. It’s a little more focused than The Sims, with a semblance of a plot to push the player and its own spinoffs that are a little more action-based.

The series made a comeback in 2024, with a rerelease on the Switch and more versions following in March of this year. However, it appears that EA is happy with the rereleases’ results, and is packaging up even more MySims games.

The Sims is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and fans are expecting to see a lot more announcements. In the last few days, The Sims 3 received a patch after a decade, fixing compatibility with newer processors.
