Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2 comes with surprise new features

Cyberpunk 2077 fans will be excited to hear that the upcoming Update 2.2 is bringing some new features and changes. CD Projekt Red is announcing what’s coming in this update in a stream on December 10th, 2024. Here’s what we know so far:

December 10th is Cyberpunk 2077’s four-year anniversary and we’re expecting the dev team to reveal some big new updates for the game to mark the occasion. As we all know by now, the game has come on leaps and bounds since its initial tumultuous release. These days, the game is a fan favorite, with plenty of post-release support from the team at CD Projekt Red and a thriving modding community. The Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty DLC, which is the only major expansion for the game, was a resounding success but there are no plans for any more DLCs. However, the game has still been kept fresh with free updates and patches that add new features and content, and we hope that Update 2.2 will do the same.

This update has come as a big surprise in the community because earlier in the year, players were told that no developers were working on the game, and had been transferred over to the upcoming game, Project Polaris – the code name for the next Witcher game!

What’s coming in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2?

So, what could be included in this update? We know for sure that it’s not a PlayStation 5 Pro or a New Game+ update, as CD Projekt Red’s Global Community Director, Marcin Momot, has confirmed that “the answer is no” on that one. He does assure players, however, that there is some “cool stuff in the oven” and all will be revealed in the stream.

We’ll keep you posted on what’s included in Update 2.2 once the stream drops on December 10th. We’ll also be keeping you all updated on any Project Polaris aka The Witcher news – so stay tuned with us here at ReadWrite!
