Back in the 1990s Accolade Sports games sold by the bucketloads. Spanning sports such as baseball, basketball and summer and winter events you could get them on pretty much every home computer and console of the day.
And now you will be able to pick up five classic Accolade Sports games in a single collection courtesy of QUByte and Atari for your PC or modern-day console equivalent to relive those pixelated dreams of making the sporting bigtime.
The first two games in the set are the classic baseball titles Hardball and Hardball II. As a Brit in the 90s my only real exposure to baseball was through games such as Hardball And RBI 2 so these hold fond memories for me.
Next up is Hoops Shut Up and Jam! Which I am guessing is the former Accolade sports game Barkley: Shut up and Jam! which at the time carried the licence of Charles Barkley and no clearly doesn’t any more – so we get a rename.
The finial two games in the pack at Summer Challenge and Winter Challenge – basically covering Olympic sports without the whole need to stick five rings on the box at the time.
Accolade Sports Collection offers a complete retro gaming experience, where players can easily select any of the titles and have access to features such as save states, screen filters, tutorials and much more! All with the convenience of modern console and computer enhancements. The mechanics of all the games have been preserved to keep the original feel!
The collection is also QUByte’s first PC title to be made available for purchase on the Xsolla platform via the official QUByte store, which will soon have other titles available with special promotions and discounts for gamers. Accolade Sports Collection is already available for pre-order before launch with a 20% discount, costing currently $16. It will also be available on Steam.
Accolade Sports Collection will be released on January 30, 2025 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch
