With Ultrabooks being touch devices that we should see some amazing apps that cross between mobile and PC with HTML5 as a development framework. With that you and others might want to share your HTML5 work with us here via our blogs. I was doing just that for a recent for post for an HTML5 conference. Interestingly enough I found it was a bit trickier than I had thought to get HTML5 to work in WordPress, but I found a work-around and thought I’d share with the community.
WordPress Workaround:
WordPress like many blog platforms uses a wiki style mark-up for doing simple HTML5 formatting, but does not allow (from the Intel Software blog anyway) for a full set of HTML coding in the post. In other words scripting is a “no no”. So that was a big road block but pretty easily remedied as I realize I can post an iframe in the blog post.
As it turns out that is much better anyway. Most HTML5 would need to call javascipt or CSS libraries that would be a pain to try to host from the WordPress server. It is actually much cleaner and easier to use an iFrame. So the solution is create your HTML5 seperate from your blog post. Then host those files someplace (i.e. DropBox) where it can be referenced from your blog.
