Samsung Electronics is looking at upping its security game when it comes to its 2016 range of Smart TVs and beyond. Introducing GAIA, a security solution aimed specifically for its Smart TVs. Smart TV is an Important platform for Samsung to implement their Tizen TV solution on. User will be able to play games, access online media content and control their Smart Home, all from their Samsung Smart TV. These capabilities make security of paramount Importance.
GAIA is a comprehensive three-layer security solution for its entire 2016 line up of Tizen-based Smart TVs. The service will give consumers protection across all areas of the Smart TV ecosystem, including services, software and hardware security.

Consumers personal data, such as credit cards details, is stored in a secure space and locked away with a PIN. All data is then encrypted between the TV and IoT service servers. There are also a built-in anti-malware system that detects an suspicious app activity, that can then be blocked or terminated.
The Tizen OS is further secured by splitting it into two parts, making it harder to extract relevant Information. The TV will also feature a hardware chip used for public key encryption.
