Samsung have announced that they have sold more than 25,000 units of their latest Gear S3 smartwatches in South Korea since they released the device on Nov. 11. Samsung have a habit of releasing first on home soil and then elsewhere to different markets. There is no Information as to how the sales were divided between the Frontier and Classic variants but globally we have seen a far greater Interest in the Frontier than the more elegant looking Classic.
We have now seen releases in the US, UK, France, Germany, and others. Physically the S3 is larger than the S2 model and carries a bit more ‘heft’ to it and that seems to appeal more to men than women, as you would expect. Samsung will continue selling the S2 as it sees the S3 adding to their smartwatch range opposed to replacing the S2.
