Here on ReadWriteCloud, we routinely look at how and where virtualization is being used, both in our regular daily coverage and in white papers and case studies. While it’s not exactly breaking news that virtualization is widespread, there’s nothing like a good infographic to visually break down some of the key statistics.
In particular, this infographic from VMWare looks at the adoption of their vSphere virtualization platform and breaks it down into some interesting stats.
For example, if the 20 million VMs running on vSphere were physical machines and you lined them up, they would be twice the length of the Great Wall of China.
