Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator beta for Windows 7 &amp; MeeGo netbook currently supports many of HTML5 features and the list is growing every release. Check back here periodically for updates to our webkit support and feature compatibility<\/p>\n<h4>HTML5 Compatibility Score<\/h4>\n<p>As per http:\/\/html5test.com\/ Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator beta gets a score of 236 out of 450 points<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Here are the supported features by functional areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Basic HTML5 Support<\/h4>\n<p>Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator beta essentially uses QtWebKit[<strong>QtWebkit 2.0 with Qt 4.7.3<\/strong>] as its underlying browser engine<br \/>\nThe newly added HTML5 Elements like<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>section<\/li>\n<li>nav<\/li>\n<li>article<\/li>\n<li>aside<\/li>\n<li>hgroup<\/li>\n<li>header<\/li>\n<li>footer<\/li>\n<li>rp<\/li>\n<li>wbr<\/li>\n<li>summary<\/li>\n<li>menu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>are supported<\/p>\n<h4>HTML5 Forms<\/h4>\n<p>Many of the latest HTML5 form elements are supported by Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator beta, of these<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>input type=search<\/li>\n<li>input type=tel<\/li>\n<li>input type=url<\/li>\n<li>input type=email<\/li>\n<li>input type=range<\/li>\n<li>input type=checkbox<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>are some of the supported ones. Form field level validation allows both pattern attribute and required attribute checking. Most of the User interaction elements like<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drag and drop<\/li>\n<li>Events related to Drag and drop<\/li>\n<li>HTML5 editing APIs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>are supported.<\/p>\n<h4>Web Applications<\/h4>\n<p>Online Web applications or URL based applications that run inside the iframe of Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator can utilize<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application cache<\/li>\n<li>Custom scheme handlers<\/li>\n<li>Custom content handlers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sandboxed iframe works fine with Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator where as seamless iframes are not yet supported here.<\/p>\n<h4>Storage, File APIs<\/h4>\n<p>Most of the storage API is supported. Session storage, Local storage(key:value as well as Full DB) are supported. IndexedDB is not supported. File API is not yet supported, but flash based, form based file uploaders are supported<\/p>\n<h4>Communication and Web Workers<\/h4>\n<p>Both of these are very well supported by Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator. Cross-document messaging, Server-sent events, WebSockets, Web Workers, Shared Workers are well supported.<\/p>\n<h4>Audio and Video<\/h4>\n<p>Not supported yet. But as Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator allows plugins like flash, silver light. Applications using these technologies can take advantage of this platform.<\/p>\n<h4>Canvas and WebGL<\/h4>\n<p>Canvas element is fully supported by Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator. 2D contest, text have good support. WebGL is not yet supported.<\/p>\n<h4>Unsupported elements\/APIs<\/h4>\n<p>Here are some of the HTML5 features that are not yet supported by Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Files &#8211; FileReader API, FileSystem API<\/li>\n<li>WebGL<\/li>\n<li>GeoLocation<\/li>\n<li>Local Media &#8211; Access to webcam etc<\/li>\n<li>web notification<\/li>\n<li>Microdata &#8211; Machine readable data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Conclusion<\/h4>\n<p>To sum up, many of the important HTML5 features are supported by Intel AppUp\u2122 encapsulator.
