The productivity software company Notion has unveiled a whole lot of upgrades, including a new approach to emails with Notion Mail.
The announcement came on Thursday (October 24) at the ‘Make with Notion’ event held in San Francisco, with several other changes to be introduced into the software.
One of the most prominent implementations will be Notion Mail which doesn’t yet have a release date but is said to be ‘coming soon’ with curious Notion users able to sign up to a waitlist.
The company says they’ve rebuilt emails as they haven’t changed in the last 20 years, describing them as being “cluttered, chaotic, and hard to manage.
“Notion Mail is fast, minimal, and does all the organizing and back-and-forth of scheduling for you! Best part is “views” that let you customize your inbox to your workflows, just like the rest of Notion.”
What upgrades did Notion reveal at ‘Make with Notion’ event?
A greater level of customization has also been added through the change to the layouts. The team has created “a way for you to layout your tasks, goals, documents, or whatever you keep in Notion. Your newly organized, beautiful pages will help keep teams focused and efficient.”
Forms have been added within the software, so users can capture requests, feedback, RSVPs, and more – all of which will be stored in a Notion database.
Automations have been set up too which can be used to notify people through Gmail. Through this, an email can be triggered when information changes, like when a form has been submitted or the status of a project has changed.
In the future, users will be able to send custom web requests to platforms like Zapier and Make to trigger actions in other apps too.
Custom emojis will soon be introduced as well, along with the ability to personalize URLs. And for those who currently sell their Notion templates, a marketplace has been created to enable people to list and sell natively.
This will include payments, analytics, reviews and ratings, and safeguards to prevent unfair re-distribution.
