Ladbrokes and Liverpool FC launch new accumulator bet charity program

Liverpool Football Club (LFC) is aiming to help and support “500,000 people a season by 2030.” To aid in this effort, its “official betting partner”, Ladbrokes, will step up to assist the LFC Foundation reach its goal.

This will be done through a £100 ($129.43) accumulator bet per round remaining in the Premier League, starting with Liverpool vs Everton tonight, April 2. It’s unclear if Ladbrokes will be betting on the five other games due to start 15 minutes before the Liverpool match, but ReadWrite has reached out.

An accumulator bet is the act of placing a single amount of cash on at least four different options. Ladbrokes’ bets would need to hit all those bets for it to be successful. In the event that Ladbrokes fails to win anything, it’ll simply hand over the £100 to the LFC Foundation.

Ladbrokes and the LFC have said that this programme will have an outlook to the next season too. Currently, there are only eight match days left before the end of the Premier League, with the last match on May 25.

Liverpool FC wants to help 500,000 through Ladbrokes gambling

LFC states that during the 2023-2024 season, its charity was able to support “more than 127,000 people”, with £92 million “of social value” to Liverpool City. Over the last four years, the club has been able to generate £284.48 million and add £30 million into the local economy.

Chief Executive of the LFC Foundation, Matt Parish, said in a press release:

“The foundation recently launched an ambitious new strategy with the aim of supporting 500,000 people by 2030. The support of our partners is integral to the work we do and in achieving these ambitious targets, and every contribution will help us make a meaningful difference.

“With Ladbrokes’ support, we can continue to tackle social inequalities facing our communities and deliver measurable, life-changing programmes in our local communities and beyond.”
