The Socialization of LinkedIn, Lyris and Jive

We all know that apps are getting more social, but various announcements this week emphasize the point for enterprise purposes. These include connecting LinkedIn, mailing list software Lyris and Jive with other applications that can increase their reach and make connections easier.

The first announcement is with WorkSimple who today announced an add-in to LinkedIn that enables people to add recognition from co-workers and other social goals to their LinkedIn accounts. (See the screenshot below.) You can start off with a free account, and the app works with either paid or free LinkedIn accounts.

The second announcement is from Wrike, who has taken its project management tools and integrates with Jive, so that they can track projects and tasks from within the Jive news stream. Jive customers can manage thousands of tasks, build plans on Gantt charts and have integrated task and project discussions.

Both services have the same pricing plan, starting at $5 per user per month.

The third announcement adds new features from Lyris Inc. that will enable email list marketers to add social functionality into their campaigns. Through a simple dashboard, you can post updates to Facebook and Twitter and shorten URLs. Included are features that Constant Contact has had for some time, including the ability to add “like” buttons and links to share the email with LinkedIn and Twitter users. Lyris will monitor the clickstream and report on which social links were more effective.

All three show that socialization of business apps is just beginning, and expect more announcements from others that will enable similar integration.
