Visage Mobility Central Helps Manage Your Enterprise Cell Plan Mess

Are you trying to get a handle on your corporate cell phone bill? Then maybe should take a closer look at Visage Mobile’s Mobility Central. For a couple of bucks per user per month, you can get amazing visibility into what you are spending on your cell plans, how you can cut costs and better track your phones, and be more responsive to management and your end users at the same time. The latest v3 has been available since late last month.

Visage aggregates cell phone carrier information and usage data for an entire organization. They import your LDAP company directory and organize it into groups that you can understand, such as corporate, sales, and remote offices. You then import the raw monthly billing data from each of your corporate carriers and off you go.

Everything is browser-based. You can set spending limits and talk time minutes for each user group, and build bottom-up budgets for your cell bills. Every user can see what they spend and how many minutes they consume. You can create custom reports quite easily with just a few mouse clicks. For example, you can see what devices are used by each user, and what features that they are using attached to that device. You can also see which devices haven’t made a phone call or a data connection in the last month for example. Or examine cases where particular departments are buying a lot more minutes than they actually use each month. In one case, a company discovered they were paying $15,000 one month just for unauthorized software downloads.

You can send a group email to everyone using a particular phone if you want to upgrade or replace all of them. You can track the device separate from a SIM card or a mobile number attached to them too, or see if you are missing cards from your phones, for example.

The price is $3.50 per subscriber per month. Discounts are available for larger customers. Lest you think you are too small to benefit from their service, they have a 80-person company on the low end and thousands on the high end.
