RHEL 6 was released late last year, and RHEL 6.1 came out in May. It will be a while before RHEL 7 sees light of day, but now is as good a time as any to start getting customer feedback for the next release.
So Red Hat is polling its customers starting today to see what they'd like to have in the next generation of RHEL. Red Hat is also asking customers to talk about their use cases so it can help shape features for RHEL 7 to fit those use cases.
This is a case where membership has its privileges. The customer portal is only open to Red Hat subscribers, which means that there's no chiming in unless you're paying for RHN. But you're welcome to chime in here, whether or not you're a Red Hat customer. So tell us, what are you hoping for in the next generation of RHEL? Should RHEL bring back Xen? Looking for improvements to KVM? Better management tools? Something else? We'd love to know.
