Intuit and Salesforce.com announced a partnership to bring Salesforce.com's customer relationship management software into Inuit's QuickBooks Online service. Intuit will resell Salesforce.com's CRM solution, which will integrate with QuickBooks Online and synchronize customer data. The integration is designed to prevent users from having to enter data into two separate systems.Today
This is a coup for Salesforce.com, which will get exposure from one of the most popular cloud-based business accounting vendors in the world. The Salesforce.com integration will be available from Intuit App Center next summer.
According to the announcement, "A recent survey by Intuit found that more than one-half of small businesses perform CRM tasks manually or with software not designed for the job; 28 percent use pen and paper, while another 28 percent manually enter data on spreadsheets."
Other services that integrate accounting and CRM include Erply (coverage), ERPNext and myERP.com. Also, Saleforce.com has a close relationship with FinancialForce.com, a company that offers finance software through the Salesforce.com AppXchange.
Quickbooks Online, which launched in late 2000, recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary.
