Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Demoed on Video

In case you missed it, this week we finally got our official first look at Honeycomb, the tablet-only version of Android (Android 3.0). On Wednesday, Google teased us with a preview video of the new mobile operating system, which represents a fairly large departure in terms of user interface elements, via a video posted to its company blog.

But Honeycomb has also been demoed on video thanks to the journalists covering the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) taking place in Las Vegas this week. If you’re dying to go hands-on with Honeycomb but aren’t at CES, this is as close as you’ll get for now. Videos are below.

According to Android’s VP Engineering Andy Rubin, Honeycomb features a new holographic user interface, refined multi-tasking and notifications, a home screen customization with 3D effects, redesigned, richer and more interactive widgets and, of course, provides access to “over 100,000 applications” in the Android Market.

The teaser video posted on Wednesday is here:

Thanks to several enterprising reporters, we also have more first looks at Honeycomb running on tablets shown at CES. Here are some of our favorites, thanks to BGR, CNET, VentureBeat and The Guardian:
