Every week on ReadWriteMobile, we’ve asked you a question pertaining to the mobile industry. These polls have asked you things like your thoughts on various platforms, where you as a developer may be focusing your efforts, what tools you use in your job and more.
As 2010 draws to a close, we thought it might be nice to take a look back at what you’ve said so far.

Are Android Apps Dangerous?
After a round of “Android spyware” news hit the Web, we wanted to know if you thought Android apps put users’ data more at risk than necessary, or if the media had overhyped the recent troubles.
Your number one answer (33.8%): YES. Android puts too much responsibility on its users to maintain their own security, you said. Users don’t read, they just click “OK.” Note that other answers came in a close 2nd and 3rd place here. “Somewhat” registered at 32.2% and “No” came it at 25.82%.

Is There Hope for Windows Phone 7?
Microsoft’s new mobile OS, Windows Phone 7, made its debut, representing Microsoft’s huge effort at a mobile comeback. But was it too little, too late? Or could WP7 have a chance, we wanted to know. You told us: YES. Windows Phone 7 will do well. There are enough developers and consumers interested in the OS to get it off the ground (46.53%). Second most popular answer was “maybe” and third “No.” Only 5.41% thought it was “too soon to tell.”

Does Android Have a “Dude” Problem?
After a mobile phone survey revealed that less than 5% of women in the U.K. would choose an Android phone, we wondered if Android had a problem marketing itself to women. Belinda Parmar, Founder of marketing agency Lady Geek which conducted the survey with YouGov Sixth Sense, said that few women “know or care about Android.” Is that true? You disagreed. 52.71% of you said: NO. Early adopters are often male and the numbers will balance out in time. (41.25% said yes, however).

How Many iPad Apps Have You Bought?
A surprising number of you have paid for more than 20 apps, we found (26.08%). That’s a lot of apps!
The numbers were as follows:
- None – 9.02%
- 1-5 – 16.47%
- Less than 10 – 14.9%
- 11-20 – 19.41%
- More than 20 – 26.08%
- I don’t have an iPad – 14.12%

Are You Using Facebook Places?
With over half a billion users on Facebook, anything the social network launches is big news. And in November, Facebook launched its first mobile “check-in” service, Facebook Places, a competitor to the likes of Foursquare, Gowalla, et al. But was anyone really using it? We asked developers if they planned on implementing support for Facebook Places in their mobile, location-based app. You said: No, you weren’t planning on adding support for it in your app. (37.21%). However, 24.42% said, yes, you would add it in the future and 12.79% said your app supports it now, meaning that 37.21% of you either support it or plan to. Wow, a tie!

What Do You Want to See in the Android Market Update?
News of a big Android Market update leaked out, so we asked what new features you wanted to see added. The most popular choice: PayPal for app purchases (23.9%) Others hoped for Gingerbread-specific features (21.7%), OTA purchases from the Android Market Web Store (21.43%), ?Google Music (20.05%) and carrier billing (8.79%).

Are Nokia’s Changes Working?
Nokia recently released new numbers which seemed to prove its turnaround efforts were working. The company’s new Qt SDK resulted in a 70% reduction in lines of code, the company said, and developer interest was returning. But was it? We asked developers if you were more inclined to develop for Nokia platforms now, given these changes. You said: YES. These changes have encouraged many of you to consider developing Nokia apps. (50.25%). 30.65% said no and 19.1% said maybe.

What Mobile App Development Services Have You Used?
We asked you about your preferred mobile app building tools with big poll, where over 30 services were listed (and yes, we still forgot some – thank you, write-in votes!). Your top pick: Appcelerator, which received 30.84% of the votes. Other favorites included Sencha Touch (17.27%), PhoneGap (11.73%) and Rhomobile (9.42%).

Are You Building a PlayBook App?
RIM has been showing off its iPad competitor, the PlayBook, which looks nice, we’ll admit. But are developers interested? It looks like they are. 43.84% of you said you were actively developing a PlayBook app. 31.51% said “maybe” and 24.66% said “no.”
